Born: June 20, 2017
Age: Age 9 weeks
Weight: 10 lbs
Name: Tilli (Battle Maiden in German)
On Sunday we did something that most little kids dream of. We drove to a farm and brought home an adorable little puppy. Tilli is a Golden Retriever and should definitely weigh in under 70 lbs when grown. The three girls are beyond excited to have her in the family. Charlotte is 8-years-old and definitely has the upper hand. She’s a little smarter and cares just a little more about Tilli. She knows that if she listens to me with regard to the puppy rules, the puppy will love her the most. Charlotte plans to make Tilli “her dog.”
We are on day 3 and Tilli already feels at home. She woke up from her second night with spunk and confidence. Sleeping through the first two nights has been a breeze! I moved her cage right next to my bed and that seems to be working great. She plays then naps then eats then plays then naps and so on and so on. I hung a bell by the back door and she’s already ringing it with her nose to let us know she wants to go outside.
Next Friday we are going to start working with a trainer 2x per week to make sure she turns into a really good dog. Tilli will be around when the girls are in high school and I really would love to be able to take her places and be confident with her behaviors.
Tilli has a brother (same parents) named Blue who is 6 months old. He belongs to very good friends of ours. Two other families in town also got female puppies from this litter. It’s a puppy craze here! We can’t wait to have puppy play dates.
I do believe that love-at-first-sight is true in this household. We instantly fell in love with Tilli and can’t wait to see her grow… but not too fast. Puppy breath is the best.
